Cyberpunk Eyes
University of Washington researchers have figured out how to implant semitransparent red and blue LED lights in contact lenses, for the purpose of receiving and displaying data in sharp visual images and video. This means wearers will literally be able to watch TV or view photos that are projected directly onto their eyeballs.

Russian art student Peter Pavlesnkiy wrapped himself in barbed wire. The confused policemen attempted to untangle and remove him from the public square — first by putting a blanket to hide the horror, then with wire cutters. The protestor was gashed and cut by the self-imposed net. ‘The action symbolises man’s existence in a repressive legal system, where any movement causes severe reaction by the Law as it bites into the body of the individual’

"Femininity has been presented as something that’s artificial and masculinity is something that’s authentic, and even in a lot of feminist discourse until recently, femininity was seen as something that was artificial and fake. So there is this fear of feminine that we see in a lot of different aspects of culture that is punished. That’s a part of patriarchy. In a lot of ways we can’t talk about homophobia and transphobia, without talking about patriarchy.”

"But the feminine is not per se a monstrous sign; rather, it is constructed as such within a patriarchal discourse which reveals a great deal about male desires and fears but tells us nothing about feminine desire in relation to the horrific."
